Libertarian Party of Georgia Welcomes New Leadership and Candidates for 2024

Date:

Conyers, GA – The Libertarian Party of Georgia (LPGa) recently marked a significant milestone at its annual convention held in Conyers over the weekend, with the election of new leadership and the announcement of candidates for the Public Service Commission. The event was a testament to the party’s growing influence and its commitment to promoting libertarian principles and candidates across the state.

Current state party Secretary, Zane Placie, will continue to serve in his position, following a re-election that underscored the party’s confidence in his leadership and administrative skills. Brian Allen was appointed as the new Vice Chair while retaining his role as Public Policy Director, a combination that positions him to use his legislative knowledge and advocacy skills to further the party’s goals.

The convention also saw the formation of the state party’s Executive Committee for 2024, comprising both new and returning representatives from across Georgia. This committee is set to guide the LPGa’s strategic direction in the coming year.

Highlighting its dedication to making a tangible impact on Georgia’s political scene, the LPGa announced its candidates for the Public Service Commission: Tom Blooming for District 5, Victoria Salvia for District 3, and Colin McKinney for District 2. These nominations underscore the party’s focus on issues of individual freedom, limited government, and fiscal responsibility.

The convention outcomes signal a year of proactive political engagement for the LPGa, aiming to broaden its influence and deepen its involvement in the state’s political dynamics. The party’s leadership and Executive Committee are looking forward to building on this momentum, increasing visibility, and impacting Georgia’s political landscape in meaningful ways.

The Libertarian Party of Georgia is calling on residents who are looking for an alternative to the legacy two-party system to support its candidates and engage with its platform.
